Devious Journal Entry

Mon Jul 13, 2009, 12:16 PM
I visited my brother today. At one point, I suddenly find myself being kicked by his kids! And what do you know? There's a huge note in my back that says "kick me" - in elven script. Yes, Tengwar.

It has been summer. Time to go barefoot, to lie in the grass, to rest a little. And to try to craft too many things in too many ways in too little time. I'd flood my gallery if I'd ever get half the things made I plan to.

It seems I forgot to buff the new round of Sock And Puppets the Game here, which is too bad. It's like random themed art trade challenges! Which is awesome. [link]
Really, I've got some of my better ideas while making presents.

Tomorrow I'm leaving to Iceland for ten days. That should prove to be heaps of fun - I know some great people there! And I'll need some Icelandic steam for something I'm going to make...

I'm thinking of maybe opening a net store after I come back, some time next month, in hopes of perhaps selling some niceties. Perhaps on Etsy. We'll see how things go.

Very nice mask work. :D
Thank you! It's especially nice to get a nice comment from somebody talented as yourself, you make some exquisite masks.
Thank you! And so do you! :D
Leaher is such a versatile medium, it's always great to see what other people are doing with it, and be inspired.
That's so very nice to hear! I've just recently got into it, so I hope to pick up new things. Perhaps I'll be looking around more mask makers for inspiration and such.
I don't think so - the important thing here is that the leather actually hardens when it dries (after soaking), so you really need vegetable tanned leather, not just any cloth.
okay, well now I need some vegetable tanned leather.

Yeah, that tends to be the trickiest part ;)
Damn...:-\ I can always just join art club and make another claymask next school year

Eh, don't be too disheartened, now - there's bound to be some place to get leather from if you just look for one.
